We want to share an update on today’s incident affecting the US cluster of the E2B platform.
What happened
At 3:36 am PT (10:36 UTC), our monitoring detected elevated 5xx error rates. Shortly after, at 3:41 am PT (10:41 UTC), we opened an incident to investigate.
Customers may have experienced elevated error rates and slower sandbox creation and resume times due to high memory utilization across several infrastructure nodes.
What we did
After identifying the issue, we increased infrastructure capacity and added safeguards to help stabilize the affected services.
Recovery took longer than expected because additional infrastructure capacity was not immediately available in the affected region. Once the new capacity was provisioned, the platform stabilized and we moved into a monitoring phase at 7:13 am PT (13:13 UTC).
Next steps
We’re continuing to review what happened and are making improvements to capacity planning and monitoring to reduce the chance of this happening again.
